The marriage of Miss Laura Browne to Hugh Murphy of Knowles took place July 24th, at the church of the Sacred Heart, Rev. G.A. Haeusler performing the wedding ceremony. At 8:30 o'clock the bridal party entered the church, to the strains of "Bridal Bells March," played by Dan Calvey upon the violin, Miss Rose Skelton acted as his accompanist. The bride was attired in a gown of white fucine silk, wore a large picture hat and carried a bouquet of bride's roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Crissy Browne, who wore a suit of blue chiffon de laine and carried pink carnations. The groom was attended by his brother P.H. Murphy of Oakfield. Marie Barber and Edyth Browne acted as flower girls, carrying large bouquets of red carnations and ferns. After the ceremony at the church a reception followed at the home of the brides parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Browne, at which the following people were entertained Messrs. and Mesdames P.H. Calvey of Fond du Lac, Thos. Fitzgerald, Dotyville, E. Bowen, M. Calvey, Dundee, Rev. G.A. and Miss Mary Haeusler and George Twohig, Armstrong, Miss Bid Kilcoyne and brother George, Miss Katie Murphy and brother Will of Milwaukee, P.H. Murphy of Oakfield, Mrs. Cecelia Calvey and sons Dan and Will, Miss Rose Skelton, Mitchell, Mrs. Ed. Calvey, North Fond du Lac, Tom Fuller, Mrs. Ellen Butler and son Thomas of Parnell.
Miss Browne was one of Fond du Lac county's most successful teachers having been engaged in that work for the past eight years and enjoys the esteem and respect of vast numbers of friends. Mr. Murphy is a young man of pleasing address and commands the liking and regard of his host of friends. He is manager of the stone and lime quarries at Knowles, where he has established a cosy (sic) home for his bride.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Adon Brown of Dundee was made extremely sad Tuesday morning, Dec. 17th, when death summoned their beloved daughter Mabel to her eternal home. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia. After the Heavenly visitor had departed with the immortal Treasure in his keeping, faltering lips tried to muster courage to convey to ears, hopeful until then, one only message - that one of nature's noble woman had been called home. refinement, whose high character was (sic) Among all she ranked as a lady of (refinement, whose high character was) well known. There has passed out of this community and we deplore the loss, a true lady, upright, honorable as the good and brave are. She has been called with the Angels of God and when lonely hours make home lonesome, consider the fact she is before the throne of God to beseech Him to grant you courage and strength until we meet again at Heaven's gate.Surviving are her parents, four sisters, Mrs. George Twohig, Mrs. Frank Beggan, Mrs. John Pesch, Edith, a nurse at St. Joseph's hospital in Milwaukee; two brothers, Joe, at home and Clement at Camp Grant. The funeral took place Thursday from Sacred Heart church at Dundee (Sheboygan county) Rev. Father Schuerell of Armstrong reading the High Mass of Requiem.The pall bearers were Hugh Murphy, George Twohig, Frank Beggan, John Pesch, John Murray and Dr. T. J. Calvey.

1909 Nov 17 Mrs. Hugh (Anna Browne) MurphyThe funeral services of the late Mrs. Hugh Murphy (nee Anna Browne) was conducted Wednesday morning, Nov. 17, at 10:30 o'clock from the church of the Sacred Heart at Dundee. The church was filled with relatives and friends, who had come to pay their last respects to the departed one.
The Rev. G.A. Haeusler said the funeral mass and gave the funeral sermon. The musical service was rendered by the choir of the Osceola church.
The pall bearers were the Messrs. Harry Bowen, Will Calvey, Jos. Vandigrind, Mike O'Brien, Tom Fuller and George Kilcoyne. The remains were laid at rest in the cemetery adjoining the church, a short service being conducted at the grave in accordance with the regular custom of the Catholic church.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband and one little daughter May, aged eighteen months, also by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Browne, of Dundee, five sisters, Mrs. George Twohig, of Armstrong and the Misses Chrissie, Mabel, Eva and Edith and two brothers, Joseph and Clement all of Dundee, and numerous friends and relatives, who will mourn her early demise.
The numerous floral offerings were very beautiful.
Mrs. Murphy was born Sept. 1, 1882 in Dundee, where she spent her childhood and girlhood days. During the years of 1900 and 1901 she was a student of the Oshkosh Normal. She was well known as a teacher in the schools of Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties, having taught for eight years. She was married July 24, 1907 to Hugh Murphy of Knowles, Dodge county. They have since resided there, where Mr. Murphy occupies the position of foreman in the quarry works.
She was a devout Christian and nothing pleased her more then to do some kind deed for those in grief or less fortunate in life. In her death her husband has lost a devoted wife, her parents, a fond and loving daughter and the community a noble Christian soul.
1915 Jun 10HENRY BROWN Henry Brown, aged 85 years, died Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ellen Parret, near Spencer in Clark county. Deceased was born in Ohio in 1830, and when eighteen years of age, he came to this vicinity, locating on a farm, on what is now the Dundee road. During the last 20 years he has made Clark county his home, spending the declining years with his children. He is survived by three sons, Charles of Spencer, Marvin and Frank of Wibee Island, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Parret and Mrs. Minnie Hebert both residing near Spencer. The remains were brought here Wednesday afternoon at 2:20 o'clock on a Northwestern train and were taken from the depot to the Baptist church, where Rev. J. W. Taylor conducted the funeral services. Interment was held at the Union cemetery.

MANY HONOR PEARSON BROWNBEAUTIFUL MEMORIAL SERVICES HELD AT OPERA HOUSE SATURDAY AFTERNOON
The New Opera house was taxed to its utmost capacity last Saturday afternoon, by the large crowd who gathered to pay tribute to the memory of the late Pearson L. Brown, the first Campbellsport boy to give his life in France for his country. The relatives and friends of the dead boy gathered at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Brown at 1:30 o'clock and marched to the opera house. The procession was lead by Rev. W. J. Taylor, pastor of the Baptist church, and his wife, followed by the sorrowing relatives and near friends of the deceased. Representatives of the Kewaskum and Campbellsport High Schools, flower bearers, the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department, members of Camp No. 5179, M. W. A., and a large number of friends and acquaintances were next in line. Eight of his classmates of the Campbellsport High School carried a bier ladened with flowers which was placed on a large stand in front of the stage in the opera house, the other floral offerings were arranged at the foot of the stand surrounding a picture of the deceased. A large American flag, formed entirely of flowers, was the offering of the M. W. A. Camp No. 5179, while the local Fire Department placed a broken wheel of roses beside the picture of their departed member. Rev. J. W. Taylor, of the Baptist Church, had charge of the services, while Mrs. Alfred Van De Zande was organist and Miss Gretchen Paas choir director.

1909 Nov 17 Mrs. Hugh (Anna Browne) MurphyThe funeral services of the late Mrs. Hugh Murphy (nee Anna Browne) was conducted Wednesday morning, Nov. 17, at 10:30 o'clock from the church of the Sacred Heart at Dundee. The church was filled with relatives and friends, who had come to pay their last respects to the departed one.
The Rev. G.A. Haeusler said the funeral mass and gave the funeral sermon. The musical service was rendered by the choir of the Osceola church.
The pall bearers were the Messrs. Harry Bowen, Will Calvey, Jos. Vandigrind, Mike O'Brien, Tom Fuller and George Kilcoyne. The remains were laid at rest in the cemetery adjoining the church, a short service being conducted at the grave in accordance with the regular custom of the Catholic church.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband and one little daughter May, aged eighteen months, also by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Browne, of Dundee, five sisters, Mrs. George Twohig, of Armstrong and the Misses Chrissie, Mabel, Eva and Edith and two brothers, Joseph and Clement all of Dundee, and numerous friends and relatives, who will mourn her early demise.
The numerous floral offerings were very beautiful.
Mrs. Murphy was born Sept. 1, 1882 in Dundee, where she spent her childhood and girlhood days. During the years of 1900 and 1901 she was a student of the Oshkosh Normal. She was well known as a teacher in the schools of Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties, having taught for eight years. She was married July 24, 1907 to Hugh Murphy of Knowles, Dodge county. They have since resided there, where Mr. Murphy occupies the position of foreman in the quarry works.
She was a devout Christian and nothing pleased her more then to do some kind deed for those in grief or less fortunate in life. In her death her husband has lost a devoted wife, her parents, a fond and loving daughter and the community a noble Christian soul.
1915 Jun 10HENRY BROWN Henry Brown, aged 85 years, died Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ellen Parret, near Spencer in Clark county. Deceased was born in Ohio in 1830, and when eighteen years of age, he came to this vicinity, locating on a farm, on what is now the Dundee road. During the last 20 years he has made Clark county his home, spending the declining years with his children. He is survived by three sons, Charles of Spencer, Marvin and Frank of Wibee Island, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Parret and Mrs. Minnie Hebert both residing near Spencer. The remains were brought here Wednesday afternoon at 2:20 o'clock on a Northwestern train and were taken from the depot to the Baptist church, where Rev. J. W. Taylor conducted the funeral services. Interment was held at the Union cemetery.

MANY HONOR PEARSON BROWNBEAUTIFUL MEMORIAL SERVICES HELD AT OPERA HOUSE SATURDAY AFTERNOON
The New Opera house was taxed to its utmost capacity last Saturday afternoon, by the large crowd who gathered to pay tribute to the memory of the late Pearson L. Brown, the first Campbellsport boy to give his life in France for his country. The relatives and friends of the dead boy gathered at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Brown at 1:30 o'clock and marched to the opera house. The procession was lead by Rev. W. J. Taylor, pastor of the Baptist church, and his wife, followed by the sorrowing relatives and near friends of the deceased. Representatives of the Kewaskum and Campbellsport High Schools, flower bearers, the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department, members of Camp No. 5179, M. W. A., and a large number of friends and acquaintances were next in line. Eight of his classmates of the Campbellsport High School carried a bier ladened with flowers which was placed on a large stand in front of the stage in the opera house, the other floral offerings were arranged at the foot of the stand surrounding a picture of the deceased. A large American flag, formed entirely of flowers, was the offering of the M. W. A. Camp No. 5179, while the local Fire Department placed a broken wheel of roses beside the picture of their departed member. Rev. J. W. Taylor, of the Baptist Church, had charge of the services, while Mrs. Alfred Van De Zande was organist and Miss Gretchen Paas choir director.
